A Fateful Meeting
Our first encounter with Mimi was entirely by chance. She appeared one day in our car porch, slender and with the curious look of a teenager just exploring the world. With her alert eyes and gentle presence, she instantly caught our hearts. I happened to have leftover cat food from feeding strays near the gym, so I offered her a meal, hoping she’d come back. She did, and with every visit, the bond between us grew.
Becoming Part of the Family
Mimi was slim and elegant, not a kitten but not quite a full-grown cat. She looked just like a teenager finding her place. We first saw her around the car porch on May 5th, 2025, a date with lots of fives that we’ll always remember. It didn’t take long for us to make her part of our family. We fell for her quiet nature and gentle ways, and soon she became a daily presence in our lives. Her meals became our routine, fresh water was always on hand, and she grew more comfortable, often waiting for us at mealtimes.
Settling Into Her New Life
These days, Mimi is truly a part of our home. We see her in our car porch every single day, often lounging or napping under the cars during daylight hours. She almost never misses a day, sometimes only stepping away briefly, perhaps to visit her feline friends, before returning. At night she always curls up to sleep in the cat scratcher bed we got for her. The car porch has become her favorite and most comfortable spot, and it’s where she spends nearly all her time now.
Everyday Moments, Everyday Joy
Mimi is still free to come and go as she pleases, but she rarely strays far from home. After baths she gets to explore inside for a while. Her slim, agile movements and soft fur always bring smiles to our faces. We’re mindful about her time indoors since we’re new to having a cat and want to keep the shedding under control, but those moments with her inside are always special.
Her charm isn’t just in her looks. Mimi’s soft meows, bursts of playful energy after our workouts, and her gentle nibbles when she gets excited all make her an unforgettable part of our lives. She’s never scratched or bitten with intent, always showing affection in the gentlest ways.
Caring for Mimi’s Well-being
To give Mimi the best life possible, we had her spayed, keep her vaccinations up to date, and stay on top of parasite prevention. She has her own toys, treats, and a cat scratcher bed. For vet trips or medication, we use a carry crate. We make sure she stays active, playing with her after workouts to keep her healthy.
We don’t know her actual birthday, so we celebrate the day she joined our family. Watching Mimi grow from a slim, uncertain stray to a relaxed, beloved companion has been a joy. We’ll soon share her before and after photos to show her transformation.
A New Adventure Begins
Mimi is now truly part of our family and we’re excited to share her life online. From her first days as a wary stray to her new life as the queen of our car porch, every day with Mimi brings us happiness.
